Sculptra

Restore Youthful Volume

Sculptra Injectable Filler at Savannah Facial Plastic Surgery

Savannah Facial Plastic Surgery is your source for a broad selection of minimally invasive injectables that can be used to revive your look for a major boost in confidence. Sculptra is an injectable filler that stimulates your body to produce collagen–the naturally occurring protein that gives your face a full and youthful appearance. It’s an excellent option for treating significant volume loss, such as sunken cheeks, temple hollows, and deep wrinkles. Results can last up to two years or more, making it a semi-permanent solution to combat the signs of aging. Our experienced aesthetic experts are on hand to answer all of your questions about Sculptra and design a treatment plan completely personalized to your needs.

Beautifully Refreshed

What is Sculptra?

As we age, we lose fat in our faces, creating a hollow or sunken appearance in places such as under the eyes and cheekbones. Injecting Sculptra with a small needle below the skin restores fullness to the face.

Sculptra, a synthetic product known as a poly-L-lactic acid, is not harmful to the body and breaks down naturally over time. Additionally, it has been used safely for more than 30 years.

What are the benefits of Sculptra?

Sculptra comes with many benefits for individuals seeking long-lasting facial rejuvenation:

Collagen Stimulation: Sculptra's primary advantage is its ability to trigger your body's natural collagen-building process, which gradually restores lost volume and improves skin texture over time. This leads to long-lasting results that can extend up to two years or more.

Natural-Looking Results: Sculptra provides subtle and natural-looking results. The gradual enhancement creates a more authentic and youthful look.

Versatility: It can be used to address various concerns, such as sunken cheeks, temple hollows, deep wrinkles, and other areas with significant volume loss. Its versatility makes it suitable for various facial rejuvenation goals.

Minimal Downtime: Sculptra injections typically involve minimal downtime and discomfort. Most individuals can resume their daily activities immediately after treatment.

Longevity: While the results may take a few weeks to become fully apparent, they can last for an extended period, reducing the frequency of touch-up treatments.

Customizable: Sculptra treatments can be customized to meet your specific aesthetic goals, ensuring a personalized approach to facial rejuvenation.

Our Experience. Your Results.

Your Sculptra Consultation

You may be an ideal candidate for Sculptra if you have experienced age-related fat loss in the face. Sculptra can also improve the hollow appearance in the cheek area brought on by weight loss. As with all medical procedures, excellent candidates are those in good overall health and who have informed, realistic expectations. The first step to determining your candidacy is to schedule a consultation with one of our aesthetic specialists. They will listen to your goals and help design a treatment plan that delivers beautiful refreshment and a major boost in confidence.

Embrace New Confidence

Your Sculptra Procedure

Preparation: An initial consultation with one of our aesthetic specialists is the first step in any procedure. There we will discuss your health history. Medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen should be avoided as they can increase the likelihood of bruising.

The Injection Procedure: The procedure for Sculptra is fairly simple and relatively painless. Your provider uses a very thin needle to inject Sculptra beneath the skin. Because the results are not immediate (as the collagen develops over time), additional treatments may be recommended six to eight weeks apart. Not every patient requires multiple treatments, though most patients receive two to three treatments to achieve the desired results. Touch-up treatments are often administered to maintain results. We will evaluate the number of treatments needed during the initial and subsequent consultations. There is minimal to mild discomfort when receiving Sculptra injections. However, we may anesthetize the area using a topical cream before injection to help alleviate any discomfort.

Collagen Revival

Sculptra Recovery and Aftercare

The great thing about Sculptra is that there’s no downtime after the procedure. You can get back to your normal activities almost immediately, though there may be some initial swelling for the first two days. Bruising is also possible but tends to subside within a week or two. The results of Sculptra start to appear after six weeks and continue to improve over the next six months. Unlike some fillers that have immediate results, Sculptra is sometimes preferred because the results appear to develop naturally over time (i.e., it’s not apparent that you’ve had “something done”). Sculptra has been shown to last up to as long as two years.

Long-Lasting Results

Sculptra Results

Sculptra offers a unique and natural path to facial rejuvenation. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it doesn't provide instant results; instead, it gradually stimulates collagen production over time. As a result, you can expect a subtle transformation that enhances your appearance without an "overfilled" look. Sculptra is excellent for addressing concerns like sunken cheeks, temple hollows, and deep wrinkles, as it restores lost volume and improves skin texture. While results may take a few weeks to fully emerge, they can last up to two years or even longer. This longevity, combined with minimal downtime, makes Sculptra an attractive option for those seeking a semi-permanent solution to combat the signs of aging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid that is not harmful to our bodies and is naturally broken down over time. Upon injection, Sculptra stimulates the body to produce collagen in areas of the face where there is fat loss.

Sculptra is a very safe treatment with very few risks or complications; in fact, it has been used for more than 30 years, and there’s no chance of allergic reaction. Sculptra should not be used with some medications, which is why it’s important to give us information about any and all medications you are taking.

After the initial consultation, a Sculptra treatment only takes about 15 to 30 minutes. The need for additional treatments will be determined after six to eight weeks in order for the results to be apparent.

Sculptra is injected beneath the skin using a very fine needle, so while there is some initial discomfort, most patients describe it as minimal to mild. We can use ice or topical anesthesia to help ease any discomfort.

The effects of Sculptra are temporary, but they can last up to two years. Your provider may recommend a follow-up treatment to prolong the effects.

Sometimes additional treatments are needed to get the best results. However, because results do not become apparent until six weeks and continue to improve over the next six months, it’s important to be patient. We can determine if additional treatments are needed in a follow-up appointment.

Unlike surgery, the effects of Sculptra are not permanent, so it is not considered an alternative to surgery, but Sculptra can prolong the need for surgery, such as a permanent fat transfer. Additionally, it can be used as a way to “preview” the results of more permanent procedures.
